What client reviews say about UK GEO agencies
A clear look at the Google reviews behind our assessment of twenty UK GEO agencies, including review quality, volume, recency and evidence of AI-search work.
Client reviews can show how an agency works with buyers after the sales conversation. They may reveal the type of work clients value, how recently the agency delivered it, and whether anyone has reviewed its GEO or AI-search work specifically.
We reviewed the Google Business profile for each of the twenty UK agencies in our study. We recorded the profile rating, the number of reviews, how recent those reviews were, and whether any review named AI-search work.
That last point matters. A large review count can show that an agency has served many clients. It does not, on its own, show experience with GEO. A review that names AI-search work gives you more useful evidence when you are comparing agencies for this particular job.
Agencies ranked by client reviews
These scores show how useful each agency's Google Business profile is when you are checking client feedback.
We recorded four things: the profile rating, the number of reviews behind it, the age of its newest review with text, and whether any readable review mentions AI-search work. The total is out of 10.
A high score means the profile gives you recent, relevant evidence to examine. It does not prove that an agency will deliver good work. Reviews are one part of our wider assessment, and the wording matters as much as the star rating.
The table ranks the agencies by their review evidence. A large review count helps, but it cannot make a profile relevant to GEO if the reviews discuss other services. A recent star rating without any written review also tells us very little. There is only so much detective work a five-star icon can do.

How we read reviews
We read every Google Business profile for the twenty agencies in the study. Each score uses the same four checks, applied in the same order.
View methodologyWe use Google Business profiles because every agency in the study has one, and buyers can view them publicly. We record what a buyer can see without an account. Other review platforms may appear on agency websites, but they do not count here.
We start with the profile's overall rating, then record how many reviews sit behind it. A high rating carries more weight when it has a larger base of reviews. We do not remove individual complaints or score them separately.
We check when the reviews were posted. Recent reviews show that the profile still reflects current client activity, while an older collection gives us less to work with. If a profile will not load past the visible reviews, we record that.
We read the visible reviews and check whether they relate to SEO, GEO or other search work. If all the readable reviews concern another service, we cap the profile's score. One profile remains unconfirmed because its only review with text is in another language and concerns a restaurant. We are checking that it belongs to the right agency before it counts.
FAQ
FAQs
Why only Google?
We use Google Business profiles because they provide one consistent review source for all twenty agencies in the study. We read each profile through Google Maps, recording its rating, review count, recency and the services mentioned in readable reviews. Reviews or badges published elsewhere, including on an agency's own website, are not counted by default.
Why do only three reviews get read per profile?
We read the three most recent reviews carrying text on each profile. This gives every agency the same amount of review evidence, even when one profile has far more reviews than another.
We also record the profile's overall rating and total review count. That shows the size of the review base, while the three written reviews show whether recent clients have discussed the work being ranked. A recent star rating without written detail cannot tell us much, so it is capped.
Does a bad review count against an agency?
A bad review can affect an agency's score, but one negative review does not decide the result on its own. We consider the profile's rating, the number of reviews behind it, how recent the written reviews are and what those reviews discuss.
We read the review evidence in context. A profile full of praise for another service is capped because it does not demonstrate client satisfaction with the work being ranked. The same rule applies regardless of whether the review is positive or negative.
How does this feed the main ranking?
Client reviews make up one of the seven criteria in the main ranking. The review score uses the Google Business profile's rating, review volume, recency and relevance to the agency's GEO or AI-search work.
This page contains the full evidence for that criterion across all twenty agencies. The review score then contributes to each agency's overall assessment alongside the other six criteria. It does not decide the main ranking by itself.
